January 4, 2020, "Cross-strait Intellectual Property Law Forum" and "Hohai University Law School • Jiangsu Zhongshan Mingjing Law Firm Intellectual Property Law" jointly organized by Jiangsu Zhongshan Mingjing Law Firm and Hohai University Law School The unveiling ceremony of "Research Center" was grandly held at the International Exchange Center of Hohai University.



At the opening ceremony of the forum, Professor Xing Hongfei, Assistant President of Hohai University, Chen Shilin, Deputy Director of Intellectual Property Protection Office of Jiangsu Provincial Intellectual Property Office, Professor Wang Weilin, Director of the Department of Finance and Economics, Law School of Ming Chuan University, Taiwan, and Professor Yang Chunfu, Dean of Hohai University And Associate Professor Liu Huiming of Hohai University Law School, who is the chief partner of Jiangsu Zhongshan Mingjing Law Firm, delivered speeches respectively. The opening ceremony was presided over by Professor Jin Hai, Vice Dean of Hohai University Law School. Professor Xing Hongfei, Deputy Director Chen Shilin, Dean Yang Chunfu, and Associate Professor Liu Huiming jointly unveiled the establishment of “Hohai University Law School • Jiangsu Zhongshan Mingjing Law Firm Intellectual Property Law Research Center”


The first unit of the forum report meeting was chaired by Professor Zhu Xianguo of the School of Intellectual Property of Nanjing University of Science and Technology. Professor Xie Guolian, director of the Department of Economics and Law of Kaohsiung University in Taiwan, shared the views of the European and American patent practice circles on how to protect artificial intelligence with intellectual property rights. Tang Maoren, Vice President of the Intellectual Property Tribunal of the Jiangsu Provincial High People's Court, introduced the useful exploration of the application of the punitive compensation system in conjunction with mainland intellectual property trial practice. Professor Xie Zusong of the Law School of Ming Chuan University in Taiwan analyzed the patent law of the two sides of the strait and kept pace with the times.


The second unit of the forum report session was chaired by Associate Professor Guo Dezhong, associate dean of the Beijing Institute of Technology. Assistant Professor Chen Huijun from the Faculty of Law of Ming Chuan University in Taiwan commented on the calculation basis for compensation for reasonable royalties in the Taiwan Patent Law. Xu Xin, Vice President of the Intellectual Property Division of the Nanjing Intermediate People's Court of Jiangsu Province, made specific recommendations for the accurate application of entity and procedural rules in the trial of intellectual property complaints and regulatory cases in the context of the rapid development of e-commerce. Associate Professor Xu Jun of the Law School of Hohai University, serving as a part-time lawyer of Jiangsu Zhongshan Mingjing Law Firm, started with a lawsuit that occurred at Hohai University and made preliminary suggestions for resolving disputes over the ownership of patents for inventions and creations during the part-time job of college teachers. Lv Xin, a lawyer of Jiangsu Zhongshan Mingjing Law Firm, combined two cases and initially discussed whether it is possible to make a comprehensive understanding of the comparison documents in combination with common knowledge when judging the technical inspiration.



The third unit of the forum report meeting was chaired by Associate Dean Li Lei, Associate Dean of Shanghai University of International Business and Economics. Professor Wang Weilin of the Faculty of Law, Ming Chuan University of Taiwan discussed the calculation method of compensation for infringement of trade secrets in connection with the Taiwan Daliguang case. Rao Xiancheng, a doctoral student at Nanjing University School of Law, demonstrated the legitimacy of protection in the field of competition law created by AI. Associate Professor Lin Mengxiang from the School of Finance and Technology and Law School of Ming Chuan University in Taiwan exchanged knowledge protection and innovation strategies for cultural and creative industries. Liang Bingyu, a graduate student of Hohai University Law School, borrowed the experience of Japanese name and visualization of commercialization rights and put forward suggestions to improve China's relevant systems.




The fourth unit of the forum report session was presided over by Professor Liu Bingjun of the Law School of Ming Chuan University in Taiwan. Assistant Professor Li Jialing of the Law Institute of Nantai University of Science and Technology in Taiwan revealed the major legal issues facing reality TV programs in the United States. Associate Professor Gu Xiangyi from the School of Law of Hohai University applied legal doctrine to bring you a new understanding of the crime of copyright infringement. Liu Qi, a graduate student of Nanjing University Law School, reflected on the irrationality of the review obligations imposed by the current law on network service providers. Associate Professor Liu Huiming of the Law School of Hohai University, on the basis of a typed analysis of the works formed by online game live broadcasting, put forward suggestions on the legal protection methods for online game live broadcasting.



The forum held at the beginning of 2020 promoted the exchange of academic and practical issues in the field of intellectual property law (Intellectual Property Rights Law) across the Taiwan Straits.
